AJ's Car of the Day: 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport

enter image description here

Car: Buick Riviera Gran Sport

Year: 1965

What makes it special: A 360 hp., 4-barrel 425 V8 engine, it's unique feature of "clamshell hide-away" headlights and crisp, knife edge body contours.

What makes it famous: It was designed by General Motors styling giant Bill Mitchell, and the clamshell headlight feature was only available for one year.

Why I would want one: It's cool, it's literally a luxury / muscle rockstar in the automotive world.

Fun fact: It's beauty even impressed Sergio Pininfarina, designer of some of the most famous Ferraris.
