Car: Dodge " Lil Red Express" Pick-up Truck
What makes it special: It was only available for years 1978 and 1979, it was one of the first "Hot Rod" pick-ups, and it's rare with only 2,188 produced for it's debut year of 1978.
What made it famous: It was one of the most unique Dodge trucks the company had ever produced, plus not only was it a looker, it was also a performer.
Why I would want one: It's "Police Special" 4-barrel, high performance 360 cu.in. V8, backed up by a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission, 3:55.1 rear gears and Hemi-style mufflers with a crossover pipe and 2 chrome exhaust stacks running behind each rear side of the cab.
Fun fact: It was the fastest American made vehicle from 0 to 100 mph in 1978 as tested by Car and Driver magazine, and did NOT have catalytic converters due to a "loophole" in emissions regulations for that year (taking advantage of an opportunity...got to respect that.)
