ROCK FEED: MAY 7TH

ROCK FEED: MAY 7TH

What better way to start getting your kids into Rock N’ Roll than with a children’s book made by one of the greatest rock groups of all time!? That’s right! Soon, Guns N’ Roses will be releasing a children’s book, appropriately titled “Sweet Child O Mine”.  GnR is working with author James Patterson & artits Jennifer Zivoin to help bring the book to life. The Amazon description of the book reads,”Iconic band Guns N’ Roses gives new meaning to the beloved lyrics from ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ in this vivid, heartfelt picture book. Follow a child’s wondrous discovery that music is everywhere around us–from the gentle wind blowing through the bluest skies, to the fearful crash of the thunder and the rain.” You can per-order your very own copy right here from Amazon.com.

While we are on the subject of reading material, Kenny Wilkerson (Nova Rex bassist) recently wanted to shed light on autism by way of a cookbook, and was surprised to see how many musicians wanted to help. Artists like Stones Sour, Ozzy, Evanescence & Poison  just to name a few! Wilkerson wanted to raises awareness of autism, and all proceeds will go to the WeRockForAutism organization. This cook book can be ordered right here.

Weezer is finally back at it! They recently released a new song/music video titled “Hero”. The video reflects the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic and serves as a ‘Thank You’ to all the healthcare workers and people working the front lines. Weezer unfortunately announced that the upcoming album (titled Van Weezer) will be delayed shortly with no particular reason as to why. But with multiple shows being postponed or cancelled, and other musicians putting albums on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we wouldn’t doubt if that’s the reasoning. Many bands can’t get into studios to finalize songs or even record due to the current social distancing guidelines. Good news is, once everything starts blowing over, we will have countless new material from a lot of musicians!
